In Her Words: An Abre Tu Boca Stage of Writing
An evening of curated live writing exploring the feminine through distinct voices shaped inside Abre Tu Boca. Individual pieces woven into a single unfolding field.
The opening night of the Sisters in Song series at Todos Santos Brewing Company
Wednesday, March 3 · 6:00–7:30 PM
(Selected readers arrive by 5:15 PM)
As part of International Women’s Week, this special evening replaces our weekly Women’s Writing Circle with a curated live stage.
Please read everything below before submitting your writing.
Invitation
This stage showcases the words and voices of the women who have been writing inside Abre Tu Boca circles and gatherings.
You are invited to submit writing that:
• Began in an Abre Tu Boca prompt or gathering
• Moved you — or moved others
• Carries the power of your particular voice
Theme: In Her Words
Interpret freely.
This lens turns both inward and outward:
Toward the interior landscape of the self —
and outward to the way she perceives the other, and the world.
How she feels.
How she thinks.
How she judges, decides, desires.
Your piece may move through:
memory
the mundane
the body
lineage
rupture
joy
sex
creation
becoming
— at any age.
Take this to mean what it means to you.
The curation will weave individual lenses into a larger arc across the evening.
If selected, your participation may be listed on your CV or portfolio as a curated live performance.
Submission Guidelines
Must originate from an Abre Tu Boca prompt — circle, event, camp, or online gathering (any season)
May be revised from its original draft
Maximum 800 words per piece (shorter is often stronger)
Clean, finished writing only
All languages welcome
If submitting multiple pieces for consideration, please submit them as separate entries through the submission form.

If the fee is a barrier, please reach out. Space will be made.
Curatorial Process
Selections are shaped not by “best” writing, but by composition — how the pieces hinge, contrast, and build a collective field.
If your piece is not selected, know this is not a measure of worth or quality. It is a compositional decision within a larger arc.
Keep writing.
Keep listening.
Abre Tu Boca.
