  • write for ten minutes without interruption

  • listen and optionally share

  • practice guided peer feedback

About the founder

Amanda Aileen Fisher is a writer and interdisciplinary artist and the founder of the Abre Tu Boca Method — a perception-based writing and listening practice that activates inner voice through language, presence, and dialogue.

Her work has been experienced across Mexico, Latin America, the United States, and Europe in writing circles, performances, and participatory installations.

A piece Amanda began inside Abre Tu Boca was recently nominated for the Pushcart Prize, one of the highest honors for short literary work in the small press world — demonstrating the method’s capacity to generate writing that travels far beyond the circle and into the literary world.

Amanda guides each circle live, holding the structure of the practice with clarity, rigor, and deep listening.

“I came to the writing circle for the social aspect, to meet people. But through the writing process, I discovered an unexpressed part of myself I wouldn’t have found otherwise. There is a writer in me that creates unexpected stories and ideas that surprise and delight me. This has been a truly joyful discovery, and one I hope to keep nurturing.”
